2000s Montana MT105-CB Acoustic Guitar

Sharp-looking Player, Gorgeous Cherry Sunburst Finish

Mid-2000s Montana Acoustic Guitar, made by the Kaman Music Corporation, home of Takamine and Ovation.

This one would make a good first guitar, it looks great and plays easy. The sound leaves much to be desired, as it's not made from quality woods at all, but it is also a bit better than some of the other brands in the price range.

These generally run anywhere from $60-100 online and once you outgrow it and move on to bigger and better things, at least it still looks cool hanging up on the wall...

Made in China
Top: Spruce/Photo Flame
Back & Sides: Agathis
Top Binding: White
Fingerboard/Bridge: Nato
Machines Heads: Ping Chrome Diecast

Thank you for looking, more high-resolution pictures here.

  3. Been Playing since the 50's. This guitar puts out a fine clear, and strong sound. Unlike many guitars, which lose projection due to construction, or tilt the sound dark, or have no bass, this guitar has a well balanced tone across the strings without loss due to dampening. When I bought this guitar I was really going to see a 800 parlour guitar, I could have bought either... the parlour guitar was fancy and had a much darker sound with dampening across the strings. I chose this guitar and then my wife got it for me for 30 bucks. Its a good guitar for jazz because chords sound clear. This guitar deserves good strings such as elixers. It would be a great guitar to have some amplification, if you can find the right solution to do it.

People should listen closely to guitars when in the music store or even on youtube. How well a guitar projects and how clear and balanced the tone is very important. Its fun to check out a lot of guitars for this, although after awhile the lack of name brand quality will make you ill.

Lately I have been looking at thousands of guitars everyday. It is obvious that most companies don't know what a sunburst guitar should look like, Montana even got this right. Just for fun look at all of the sunburst guitars you can find on the web, most have crooked dots somewhere near the bottom of the guitar, what is that graffiti.

I don't care for the Montana head stock though
